How Does Invisalign Work?
Unlike traditional braces, which require physical impressions of your mouth and metal brackets on your teeth, Invisalign uses a scan to map out your treatment plan and clear aligners that fit over your teeth to adjust your teeth positions. The Invisalign consultation and treatment process begins with a consultation. You will visit with Drs. Najem and Lehky to determine if Invisalign is the right treatment option for your needs, preferances, and lifestyle. During your consultation, our orthodontists will capture a 3D digital image of your teeth using an iTero Elementscanner. This scan will provide them with an "imprint" of your teeth so they can determine the types of adjustments that need to be made especially for you. At this point, they will even be able to show you an image of how your new smile will look at the completion of your treatment.
Next, your orthodontist will develop a plan using ClinCheck software to make a specific road map for how each tooth should be adjusted to reach the final goal. This software has been built on the information of over 5 million people, so each move can be calculated to achieve the best results for you.
After your consultation, your customized Invisalign aligners will be made! Over the course of your orthodontic treatment, you will receive a series of aligners that help your teeth to move into the correct positions. Treatments use a sequence of 12 to 48 aligners depending on your individual treatment plan. Each aligner is custom made to fit your mouth exactly and progressively shift your teeth.
